Who am I?
I’m Lyra, a professional dancer/performer. I decided to become a massage therapist because I discovered the importance of recovery and self care throughout my dance training and career.
I grew up in Brighton and from a very young age, I knew that I wanted to be a dancer. I trained through my childhood and began vocational training in musical theatre at 16. After training, it took some time to land a job but my first job ended up being my dream job! I got to dance all over the world with Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures and the experience was absolutely incredible. As well as this, I’ve also worked as an assistant choreographer and as a dance teacher.

Working professionally led me to think of all the ways dancers need to take care of their minds and bodies. This is what led me to training to become a Massage Therapist. To help people like me sustain a long career doing what they love. I still dance and perform regularly. My aim is to inspire my peers to make sure their self care and recovery is at the correct place for a prolonged performing career.
Although I am a dancer and this is what led me to massage training, I want to make it clear that everyone is welcome to book a treatment with Lyra Massage. My goal is to help anyone I can feel like the best version of themselves. If you’re unsure what kind of massage you would like or whether massage is for you, you’re welcome to send an email and I will advise in anyway I can. I offer different styles of massage and I get to know what my clients are looking for in order to cater each massage to each individuals’s needs.
I hope to see you at Lyra Massage soon!
